Abstract: Strategic and technical communication skills are vital for STEM professionals who want to advance in their careers or make an impact on their communities. This interactive workshop will focus on identifying your communication objectives, understanding your audience, and choosing the right messages and channels for success – whether success is getting a job, influencing public behavior, or anything in between.

BioSketch: Nicole Lee is an associate professor in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences where she teaches courses in communication. Her research examines the intersection of science communication, public relations, and digital media. Most recently, this work has focused on communication by direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies and the effects of that communication.
