Shivani Hiremath: Shivani Hiremath earned her bachelor’s in engineering in Biotechnology from India. She joined Arizona State University in Fall 2019 where she earned her Master’s in Spring 2021 and continued to pursue her doctoral studies with the Weaver Lab at School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering. Her primary research interest focuses on biomaterials and immune engineering where she works on developing immunosuppressive-free cell therapies for Type 1 Diabetes.
Gradi Bamfonga: Gradi Bamfonga earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in cell and tissue engineering from the University of Rochester, New York. Subsequently, he joined Dr. Madeline Andrews’ research group at Arizona State University to pursue his doctoral studies in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in neuroscience and neurodevelopment. His research primarily centers on elucidating the effects of mutations in signaling pathways, such as the mTOR pathway, on neurodevelopment and the onset of neurodevelopmental disorders. He is a recipient of the Presidential Graduate Assistantship awards and various ASU Academic Enrichment and Scholarly Advancement Awards.
